UPDATE: My USCIS Case Status “1 WEEK” ESTIMATED TIME UNTIL CASE DECISION!

December 8th, 2023

Our estimated time until case decision continues on pace. I first noticed the “3 weeks” update on November 25th, a Saturday. We were notified of our next update, “2 weeks,” on Friday, December 1st. And just like clock work, we received our “1 week” update today on Friday, December 8th. We appear to be receiving updates every week on Friday.

On many of the Facebook groups Jessica and I belong to that focus and concentrate on the CR1 and K3 United States Visa process, there are many accounts of applicants’ progress reaching this duration and then suddenly changing to months away. The most common story of what happens is, at this point, the next update one will receive is “your case is taking longer than expected.” Shortly after that, the estimated time until case decision will change to anywhere from five to nine months. The alternative is what I am hoping and praying for: shortly after the “your case is taking longer than expected” notification, the I-130 in question is approved. This is obviously what we are hoping and preparing for.

In smaller yet still exciting news, I have added my K3 visa application to my USCIS portal and can now see it on my profile. We still have not received any kind of update in regards to our K3.

The anxiety is building especially after three updates that have been fairly accurate. It still appears to good to be true to have our I-130 approved so quickly. If we gain approval as quickly as it appears we may, I will definitely inquire as to why. But we have no explanation and my biggest fear is that we are being set up for a let down. Going from one week to nine months would feel like salt in my wounds. The USCIS certainly wouldn’t set up it’s applicants for such an incredible misdirection, would it? My hopes are that it wouldn’t but governments around the world have been guilty of doing far worse. Please offer up any prayers, energy, vibes, or whatever it is you believe in to us as we approach even closer to our alleged case decision.
